Hello Everyone,
We hope that this finds each one of you, your families and friends well and safe during a time that is uncertain. While more then anything, we wish that school and life could continue in a manner that is more familiar, your health and safety must come first.  This is why those in charge have canceled physical classes in schools until it is decided it will be safe to resume them in person. The board and the province will be making all the decisions regarding how education will be going forward.  Please know that in whatever form your education will take during this state of emergency, we are still your teachers and we will do everything within our power to ensure you receive all of the education and support that you require and deserve.
We have spoken many times in class about how we build and maintain a community that supports everyone. Much of the time this requires kindness and personal sacrifice.  Right now the community is asking us to be kind to others and to sacrifice our normal routines by staying home. We talked about “flattening the curve” and why this is important.  We also talked about physical distancing.  One way you all are helping is by staying at home.  While doing this we are also being asked to be patient and wait for decisions to be made about instruction and learning so that we are all working together.
However Spring break is still a thing. Please take these two weeks as the break that you would have had anyway. Please take care, and as always please feel free to be in contact via email. We will do our best to answer with whatever information we have.
We miss you and as always; Wash Your Hands J
Kind Regards,

Suggestions for Learning from Home K-9

Hi All,
Please see below for a message from Mr. Godfrey.
We will keep you posted as soon as we know, you'll know.
Take Care & Wash your hands people!!!
Ms. Wilson & Mr. Schultz

Children are naturally curious learners and there are opportunities at home to engage their learning. We have created a webpage that offers a variety of educational ideas to support literacy, numeracy and wellness at home for this week. The resources are meant as suggestions only. You may choose to use the links and activities as needed over the next few days as more long-term educational programming is considered.

Thank you,

The purpose of teacher blogs is to inform students and their families of day-to-day learning and activities throughout the school year.  We will continue to communicate learning opportunities and will provide links to online learning resources through these blogs.

Important information related to all school decisions will continue to be emailed to parents/guardians and can also be found on the CBE website (www.cbe.ab.ca).

Thank you

Hello everyone,
I hope that you have had a good week. It has been eventful with current events. However we will continue forward as normal until if and when the situation changes. Overall you have been coming to an end of your Aztec unit where you have been working on self study, organisation, planning and research. Next week we are planning to have the unit final, where you can bring in a sheet of paper of your own making as a guide, and by the end of the week you will hand in everything you have completed. If you want to hand in more after working on it for the break, you must speak to me next week and plan out exactly what you will hand in after.
Hopefully see you next week

Hello Everyone,

This week we continued our talk about economic systems. We looked current events for example how the stock market is reacting to corona virus and panic buying of toilet paper. We will continue next week with finishing off the story of first contact between the Spanish and the Aztec peoples. In addition to this we will begin to prepare for the final unit test the week after.

Two more weeks till break. Have a good weekend.

Hello all,
Good work this week. We have been continuing with our independent work focused on the Aztecs. This week I asked you to incorporate an overall “to do” list for your agenda. I want you to keep this at the front of your agenda so you can quickly and easily see what tasks you have to work on and what you have completed. This will aid your time management as we move forward. We also started to review, through discussion, some of the highlights of the Aztec world and worldview. We have highlighted some of the social and religious organisation and how it is similar and different than the European culture we have already examined. We have also started looking at expressing thoughts and ideas through poetry. We will continue this all next week.
Have a good weekend.
